Hello,

Can anyone list the pros/cons of using Document Composer instead of HTML Composer for creating an Active Technology Dashboard?

I've been reading ch.6 - Creating Active Technologies Dashboards with the HTML Composer from the "Designing a User Interface for a Web Application with HTML Composer" and ch.11 - Creating Active Technologies Dashboards in Document Composer from "Creating Compound Reports with Document Composer". Both chapters are very similiar, yet there are differences.

I'm wondering which tool is recomended above the other and why.

Thanks.

Hi Colleen,

From our internals: The HTML Composer can include a Compound document (Document Composer). If you would like the user to filter the report before creating the report or setting a format for the report, then the HTML Composer will have advantages. The Document composer is used to build a compound report not really a tool that to filter the data easily.

Cheers,

Kerry
