Hi all,

I have a date that I need to convert to an integer, because the source system stores the month and year of a different data in integer format, and I'm in need of trying to decide between the two dates the difference in days.

So in datamigrator I'm converting the date to an Alpha using DT_FORMAT. Then, I'm using the EDIT to strip out the '/' and then I'm CASTING the new "date" as an Integer. So, I'm trying to add the new field to a holding table. It doesn't like any of the usage or actual formats I try and give it.

Usually I get the formats from a source table, I've never had to come up with the format of a field before. I've tried 'I8'on both format. I've tried just about any kind a format and I get the following error message: which says data element is too big. And I have no clue why..

Thank you in advance!

If all you need is to calculate the difference in dates use the function DATEDIFF. There is no need to convert to integer.

Thank you for using Focal Point!
