I'd like to format my header to have a date like Oct 16, 2007 but it's coming across as 20071016

here's the code I have...
HEADING
"Sales Progress Report for &YYMD"

is there a way to put in a format function or something?

Prod: Single Windows 2008 Server running Webfocus 7.7.03 Reporting server Web server IIS6/Tomcat, AS400 DB2 database.

what you can do is

-SET &day=EDIT('&YYMD.EVAL','$$$$$$99');
-SET &month=EDIT('&YYMD.EVAL','$$$$99$$');
-SET &year=EDIT('&YYMD.EVAL','9999$$$$');
-SET &mname=DECODE &month('01' Jan '02' Feb etc);
-SET &TSTRING='&mname'|' '|'&day'|','|'&year';

but I'm sure there is more than one other solution.

You can do it with a system & variable I call it pretty dates.
&DATEtrMDYY

I just put it in the heading and don't do dialog manager as Glenda's example. But either way, the 'tr' says mixed case.

As Leah states, you can put it directly in the heading. I put it all variables the the beginning of my fex procedure (dialog manager?) because it allows me to make changes to variable with out having to go through all the code.
