[CLOSED] Export MRE and Data App items
I need to Export and then Import items from both the MRE and Data Apps folders. I thought that I could use the Managed Reporting Export and Import utilities but for some reason I can not see the Data App folders to select from.

Does anyone know how I can do this? They do not want me to drag and drop from one environment to the next.

Thanks for any help. WF 7.6.9

I am not aware of one.

You may have to ask IBI if there is an export function for the APP directories

"They do not want me to drag and drop from one environment to the next" - please explain.

There's no reason to frown upon dragging and dropping from within MRE or Developer Studio.

I suspect he has been told that he has to use some sort of export/import functionality.

I don't realy use Developer Studio, but I believe that you can "Deploy" to different WebFOCUS servers from there.

Waz - You are correct.

It is for two main reasons: 1) Version Control, 2) Separation of duties

They want us to move the files to a folder in a separate server. From there the Security admin will use DOS commands to migrate the files to there unique folders.

The issue is when we move them this way the files are corrupted and so when run them we get what looks like windings and chinese symbols.

I assume you do not use version control software, Developer Studio does support version control.

The process for version control here is based upon the localhost which each developer would update Subversion with thier own elements. Thier migration process does NOT use subversion for tracking and moving of the WF files. So here it is just an archive location and NOT a true Version Control application.

Looks like your options for data apps are drag n drop or build a process.

Perhaps its time to extend your use of Version control to what it was meant to do, then you could deploy from a specified version.

You could also keep version of MRE extracts that match the releases of the data apps.
