Hello,
I have a chart with a hyperlink, when i configure the hyperlink i don´t see three fields i need to sent as parameter.
I understand the fields must be on the chart, but i don´t need drawing them.

My chart is a circular ring diagram.

How i can do this? i need sending the fields as pararameters for the drill down.

Thank you.

Try using NOPRINT on the fields

Sorry Waz,
I tried select the fields on the graph and making them no visibles, but my chart changes.
Is that what you mean as NOPRINT?

I would appreciate if you give me a link where I can see how to do it.

Hi SPPC

Yes that is what Waz meant. Makeing them not visible adds the NOPRINT syntax under the covers. The data will not be displayed on the chart but those fields will be available to use as parameters in the hyperling (Drill Down).

Hope that helps.

OK, my chart is a circular ring diagram, i only can adding one field as measure, one as piece and one as multi-graph.

The only one that i can adding more fields is the category, no shows the hide field but the chart changes.

I need three new fields available to use as parameters in the hyperling (Drill Down). Frowner

Thanks for your help.

Hi SPPC

I now understand your dilemma. Prior to the graph create a TABLE request with the same data and filters and HOLD to foccache/drilldownparms.ftm. Then in the drill down do a -READFILE foccache/drilldownparms and the &variables will be created based on the fieldnames of the hold file.

Regards,

Hi SPPC

I missed seeing your reply until today. I have one more question before I provide an example. Is there a parameter limiting the results of the graph displayed before you do the drill down.

Thanks

Can you please post your current code so I can see what syntax is in place.

Thanks

Thanks Chuck for your answer, but i could resolved it.

Yes, there are parameters limiting the results of the graph displayed before the drill down; then i used a parameter simple in the filter making reference to the name of the parameter to which corresponds each of my three attributes to send in the drill down.

Although I wonder how it would do if i did not have them as parameters.

This is the code:

Hi SPPC

Is all you are wanting to do is pass the original parameters selected for this chart based on the WHERE statements to the drill down?

Sorry for so many follow-up questions just trying to understand exaclty what needs to be passed to the drill down.

Thanks,

Thank you for using Focal Point!

This is untested so hopefully it will get you in a better place..

At the beginning of you chart procedure add the following code to capture the data for the 3 fields you want in addition to what is in the chart. I used field1 field2 and field3 not knowing which fields you need.

TABLE FILE cluster_ejecucion_proyectos
SUM field1 field2 field3
BY CLUSTER_EJECUCION_PROYECTOS.DIM_ACTIVIDAD.NOMBRE_ACTIVIDAD
ACROSS CLUSTER_EJECUCION_PROYECTOS.DIM_ACTIVIDAD.FACTURABLE
WHERE CLUSTER_EJECUCION_PROYECTOS.DIM_CONTRATO.SIGLA_NUM_NOMBRE_CONTRATO EQ &SIGLA_NUM_CONTRATO. (|FORMAT=A301V).SIGLA_NUM_NOMBRE_CONTRATO.QUOTEDSTRING;
WHERE CLUSTER_EJECUCION_PROYECTOS.DIM_EMPLEADO.NOMBRE_COMPLETO EQ &NOMBRE_COMPLETO. (|FORMAT=A120V).NOMBRE_COMPLETO.QUOTEDSTRING;
WHERE CLUSTER_EJECUCION_PROYECTOS.DIM_TIEMPO.PERIODO GE &PERIODO_INICIAL. (|FORMAT=YYM).Periodo.QUOTEDSTR
WHERE CLUSTER_EJECUCION_PROYECTOS.DIM_TIEMPO.PERIODO LE &PERIODO_FINAL. (|FORMAT=YYM).Periodo.QUOTEDSTRING;
WHERE CLUSTER_EJECUCION_PROYECTOS.DIM_CONTRATO.VIGENTE EQ &VIGENTE. (|FORMAT=A8V).Vigente.QUOTEDSTRING;
ON TABLE HOLD AS foccache/drilldata FORMAT ALPHA
END
-RUN

Then in the drill down fex add the following code at the beginning.

FILEDEF drilldata disk foccache/drilldata.ftm
-RUN
-READFILE drilldata
-RUN

The readfile will cause &variables to be created based on the field names from the TABLE request ie (&field1)

You can then use those &field1 &field2 and &field3 however you want in the drill down report.

If there is more than one record in the foccache/datadrill.ftm file you can set up a loop and read all the records and maniputate the &variables.

You already have the other variables handled in the drill down request so you have that part right.

Hope this helps,

Thank you for using Focal Point!
