in reply to your pm,

SUM ... COMPUTE SERIAL/I8=IF MANAGER NE LAST MANAGER THEN 1 ELSE IF MONTH NE LAST MONTH THEN 1 ELSE 1 + LAST SERIAL;

as for your second question, it looks as tho you do in fact have a space between your elements in your subtotal row. if you want the numeric values to be underneath their respective columns, use SUBTOTAL

Edit your profile now to say what operating systems, products, and release versions you are on.

Hi susannah,

your solution to put serial no,is working for me.thanks alot.
As you suggest we can use subtotal to show summed values underneath their respet columns.
I tried it.But I want to show total whose title will contain the manager name and month.If i will use subtotal,then it will show only manager name because we can subtotal on one By feild.
if i will put subtotal on both manager and month,then it will give result like this.

manager......................sum sum sum
month........................sum sum sum

but i need like

manager........month.....sum...sum...sum

thats why i used subfoot.but when i used subfoot
it came like this-

manager month sum sum sum

i found no space between them

now i want to put space between them.

can you please suggest something.

Thanks

SP/A1 = HEXBYT(160, 'A1');
SP02/A2 = SP|SP;
SP05/A5 = SP|SP|SP|SP|SP;

This creats spaces..that you can use in your subfoot..just insert as a field.
