We currently are designing our WF 8 BIP using a fluid grid concept, sizing the panels in relative units (percentages).

Currently we have 2 X 2 panels:


We now want to have a different number of panels per row, for example:


We can only seem to create a BIP like the 2nd example, when we size the panels in absolute units (pixels).

The issue we have with absolute units, is that the portal loses the ability to resize based on monitor/device geometry.

Can we design for resizing (responsiveness) and yet have a different number of panels per row?

Has there been anything done on this case? I would also be interested in this in addition to being able to use javascript to resize a grid.

Meanwhile, we design HTML pages where those panels are iframes and we can size and position them the way we want.
