When creating a pivot table, the heading defaults as a merged cell across the worksheet columns. The merged cell prevents the pivot table items from being modified (adding cached fields gives error message: cannot modify part of merged cell).

What is the easiest way of including the heading, but removing the merged cell formatting ?

Hi Anmol

We came up with a passable workaround. Setting the column span to 1 and aligning to body allows for the pivot table to be modified.

TYPE=HEADING,
COLSPAN=1,
JUSTIFY=LEFT,
HEADALIGN=BODY
