It started out as a simple Java upgrade due to vulnerability issues. Now we are looking at going to OpenJDK since Oracle is charging for maintenance onr Java SE. Is anyone using OpenJDK and if so, what issues have you seen?

Thanks,

Chuck Fontaine

I'm not sure about 8.105 but I think the 8.2xx is now shipped with OpenJDK for the very reason you mention. See below:

Thanks for your response, BabakNYC. It looks like OpenJDK is included with 8.2.05, but we will be upgrading to 8.2.04 soon. If no one has made the move to OpenJDK yet or experienced any issues, I will close this thread shortly.

I think to be safe, you ought to call IB Tech support to find out what they say about it. I don't think it's been certified but it might still be supported.

Thanks BabakNYC. You are right in that it is supported but not certified. We are going to go for it.

Thanks Fran. That's what I needed to hear.

Chuck
