Simply put, I am trying to figure out how to get an HTML file (returned from WebFocus) to invoke the Windows Open/Save/Cancel dialog box. I realize that I could can change the Redirection Settings for the HTML file extension, however, I don't want the dialog box to be displayed for every page that is returned from WebFocus.

As an example, assume that th euser logs in to the web application and is presented with the GUI, as generated and returned from WebFocus. After performing all desired operations and manipulations, the user clicks download to receive the current report in HTML format (as opposed to xls and/or pdf formats).

I realize that the user can always click File/Save As... after the page is loaded regularly, however, I would like to circumvent that process.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I may be missing something here, but the nature of the browser is to receive data in HTML format and display it. If you change the handling of HTML files, it changes for everything. You can't pick when you want HTML to be displayed versus saved. Whenever something comes back in the format the browser understands (HTML) it is just displayed. If you want to save that, the only option is to File/Save As like you mention.
Maybe someone out there has some technique ??

Plugging that code in via an invisible IFrame did exactly what I wanted it to. Thanks for the code.

I have one follow-up question for my own edification...is there a way in WebFocus to create a MIME file with the response type of "application/unknown"?
