Hi,

I have tried to create a graph and report in the PDF layout tool, but we are set up so our output in developer studio is on the standard reports area of MRE. I get the graph beautifully, however the report portion is basically 'gobblly gook'. Does any one know if this is because of our set up, or some other issue. Thanks.

Leah,

I am tempted to say that it is because you used the GUI Big Grin.

Have you looked at the code produced and tried to determine the problem?

These items might help:

1.) How are you saving the graph - as .jpg, .gif, .png, .svg? It might make a difference.
2.) Where are you situating the graph: in the header, in the footer, in the report itself? Our experience has been to put the graph in the heading or footing and not in the report itself.

I used the gui to answer Tony, I verified the graph type is correct for holding, the graph displays in the pdf, the report portion looks like a raw data file. I looked at the code generated by the gui and it includes -include for each part. Anything in particular I should check for. Customer really likes the graph, would be nice to generate the supporting detail at the same time.

Leah,

The first part was meant to be a statement - e.g. it was because you used the GUI!!

As for the code, what environment are you using? Your test on 7.6? I guess so because of the new compound tool.

Unfortunately I do not have 7.6 to test but this is code I produced using the GUI (a rare occurence) on 7.1.3. How does it compare to the syntax in 7.6?

Tony,

I'm trying on our 7.1.5 linux version. Hadn't tried it on 7.6. Thanks for the example. I will compare.

I have not been able to go back to this issue, but it doesn't seem to work for me with imports.
