Hi AMC

For charts if you use HTML5 for the output and if you are putting the heading or footing use the embed header and footer in the chart option.

Not sure how to suppress scroll bars on reports.

Normally you need to increase report area and/or the I-frame area that contain the report.

Hi Chuck W - What if you don't have a heading or footing on the chart? I still selected the option and it's the same results on the portal...the scroll bar exists.

MartinY - I have these in page container or accordion container within the portal designer.

Should be the same issue : not enough spaces to display the whole report.
But you have to consider that if the user resize its screen, change the resolution or zoom, scrolling bar may appears anyway...

Hello AMC,

Without seeing what you have, you could try to set the page to 'Dynamic Report Styling' under the 'Content' tab of the portal page within the Portal Designer.

Syd.

With HTML5 charts I have not seen a scrolling issue. You probably should open a case with techsupport as it is not behaving as it should.

Ghuck W - The issue is that I want to remove the scroll bars from the individual chart or report itself on the portal when creating within the portal designer. Are you saying that there really should not even be scroll bars on the individual charts or reports on the portal when laying them out on the page with the designer?

For charts yes, they should resize themselves to fit the container (panel, tab or accordian) you put them in. Reports need to have a container big enough to prevent the scroll bars.

Chuck W - Ok, so my pie charts are consistent with what you are saying here....resizing themselves to fit the container. Also, I have a couple of bar charts that contain multiple bar charts vertically that is...so that's why they are scrolling I believe.

My reports are as you say...not in a big enough space to prevent the scroll bars it appears.

AMC,

For graph, having ON GRAPH SET HTMLENCODE ON, will take care of scrolling issues.

In App Stdio if you have a html with an iframe, then you can remove the scrolling by going to iframe properties and setting 'sizing and scrolling' to 'off'.

WF1326 - I do have that set.

For some reason now, I can not remove a document that I created and put on the portal. I can highlight it, but it will not let me delete it from the portal now for some reason.

There is a drop down arrow in the top right corner of the portal panel. The option to delete that panel is in the drop down. If you don't see it you may have the Hide Title Bar property set on the panel.

Thanks Chuck W. I did figure that out. Another issue....do you know how to remove the border for the panel that is around the chart?

When editing the portal click on the panel and then the style menu option. Under there you can control the width of the border.

Chuck W - So you're talking about under the Properties section at the bottom, correct? What I see is a Width and Height for the pixels and a Top and Left for the pixels for the whold panel. I don't see where it indicates for the border of the panel.

Once you select the panel or whatever object to work with at the top there is a style menu option. Once that menu option is select you will see options in the top ribbon bar for the border.

Chuck W - Ok, I see that now at the top. However, it will not let me change the width of the border...it's locked at 3 px. Is there another setting to unlock this or something?

Be sure you are clicking on the object you want borders to be removed from first.

jcannavo - Thanks for your reply. So my object is set to None for the border style. However, there is still like a light dotted line coming out around the chart.

Interesting...perhaps is there a border set on the chart itself that you may need to try and remove? Any chance you can provide a screen capture? In order to do so on the forum you'll need to upload your image to a site like postimages.org and use the URL given there to post here.

The firewall security policy won't allow me access to that particular site. There is not a border set around the chart itself.

Hi AMC

I can't reproduce what you are seeing. When the border is set to 0 I don't see any dotted line. If that is really bothersome then please open a case with techsupport.

Hello AMC,

In regards to the border around the chart, try clicking the 'reset border' (the icon looks like a pen) where you see the 'width' and 'style' and then save the portal.

Thanks,
Syd.

Hi Chuck W and Sydney - I went back to the border style option this morning and selected another border style other than None....and then re-selected None for the border style for that object , it then removed the line around it for some odd reason. The tool can be temperamental... Smiler .

This particular issue is resolved now. Thanks for your help.

Hello AMC,

Glad you got the issue resolved. Yes, the Portal Designer is clunky to say the least. I noticed that when using any style, whether border, color, font, etc, I have to either clear it, or as you did change it to something else, and then change it back for it to take affect.

Thanks,
Syd.

I'm a day late here, but when I create graphs, it always puts in a line "ON GRAPH SET GRWIDTH 1". If I comment that line out, my graph fits in the frame better.

And when you make a change to your portal, such as the border, and then save it, be sure to right-click on your portal and do "remove customizations". That should help.
