Can Quick Data use a reporting object as its data source? This would be very helpful if it could.

The reason I am asking is that I want to filter a business view to only allow certain parameters. I can do this in a reporting object. However, the users that my particular request is for would be using Quick Data for their reporting.

Hi Scott,

I am following up with you regarding your question about Quick Data.

Here is a technical memo on using Quick Data.
Using the WebFOCUS Quick Data Add-In

Reporting Objects can utilize the data source.

As far as parameters, you can add parameters into the Business view master field description.
WebFOCUS New Features
See Page 519:
Parameterization of Master and Access File Values Using Variables

I hope the above provides with some assistance to your question.

Thank you for participating in the Focal Point Forum.

Kindest regards,
