Hello!

I'm attempting to output a amper variable with my report, but I end up with errors every time.

Example against the car file.
FOC003) THE FIELDNAME IS NOT RECOGNIZED: germany

here's my simple code:
TABLE FILE CAR
PRINT
&COUNTRY.EVAL <- tried the .eval, no help
CAR
MODEL
WHERE COUNTRY EQ '&COUNTRY';

Jason :
The way you have the code now, FOCUS is trying to resolve the word "Germany" to a field name on the CAR file. Try the following, to show your amper variable as column on the report

COMPUTE CTRY/A25='&COUNTRY.EVAL' ;

Hi Jason,

If you do not want to do a DEFINE, you can simply place the &var into a HEADING, FOOTING, SUBHEAD, SUBFOOT
as below:

TABLE FILE CAR
-*HEADING
" THIS IS THE COUNTRY I SELECTED &COUNTRY"
PRINT
CAR
MODEL
 WHERE COUNTRY EQ '&COUNTRY';
END

Hope this helps. Smiler

Cheers,

Kerry
