We have several hundred users running deferred jobs that return either Excel or PPTs. Is there anyway to determine how many jobs are queued in front of them when they submit a run? Would really help manage expectations. Thanks

A)Are you really running 7.6?
B)Isn't the whole point of Deffered jobs Fire and Forget?

C) Why would you want to know how many job they submit and are in queue ?

No, we're on 8.2. Probably need to update that

I'm trying to find some way to manage expectations. If there are 20 jobs in front of yours it's going to be a while.

I personally think that you are loosing your time trying to manage this.
I understand that people expect to have everything instantly, but if you already run the report as deferred, it's because you don't expect to have it fast (or due to volume of data) you agree to wait.
I'm pretty sure that you can find a better thing to do to make your users happy :-)
