I have the following compound report outputting to PDF and I have a request to output it to HTML so it can be put in an email in-line. However when I change the PCHOLD output to HTML for all my .fex files and the compound report, it doesn't work.

Any help on how to achieve the HTML output would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

COMPOUND LAYOUT PCHOLD FORMAT PDF

Learn how these processes work and you will find your answer.

The individual procedure hold formats are overridden by the above statement.

Now, whether this will actually give you what you're expecting is another story ....

I assume your suggesting change the PDF to HTML? Not sure if that's what you're getting at but that was the first thing I tried, which didn't work out.

Hence the above comment.

I don't think that there is a method (easy) to utilise the same COMPOUND procedure to switch between PDF and HTML outputs.

The individual procedures that provision the content, of course, should be reusable owing to the override of the PCHOLD format, but if you want a (half decent or otherwise) output in HTML then I would be inclined to either control it yourself within a full HTML document between -HTMLFORM BEGIN and -HTMLFORM END DM code or build an HTML document using composer.

I'm sure there are many other contributors on here that will think differently (potentially down to skills etc.) and no doubt a few will share their thoughts etc. very shortly ....

Unless they have already hit weekend mode Wink

I'm playing around with this and am beginning to see your point. It looks to me like you have to basically create a whole new set of reports formatted to output in HTML and PDF separately to get the exact same looking report. I'm sure there's a proper method for handling multiple formats but since I'm a novice user, I haven't gained enough experience points to level up to getting the magic sword of formatting..lol
