My business would like webfocus to create an excel spreadsheet that displays 2 digits after the decimal for an amount. That's simple. What they also want is what I don't know how to do and that is if they click on the amount (that is showing the 2 decimal places) in excel (exl2k), that they see 6 digits after the decimal in the function box (where you see the calculations and full amounts at the top of the spreadsheet). I've tried a variety of things but can't seem to get this to work. Is this even possible with webfocus?

This is achievable using Excel templates. See Creating Reports With WebFOCUS Language > Choosing a Display Format > Using Excel Display Formats: Excel 2000, Excel 97, Excel > Creating Excel Templates. There are some inconveniences with this method, e.g. Two tabs are required in the Excel workbook, one that WebFOCUS populates and one that has the styling, formulae, formatting, etc.

Francis is correct, The reason is that WebFOCUS sends the numbers down using custom format and not number.
That means you have to use a template/macro to set the excel display format.
