Hi,
I am using Page Break on one of the columns in the sort criterion, but whats happening is the Total comes on the next page.
I have tried using SET PRINTPLUS = ON;
but it is not working....
can somebody suggest anyother workaround....

Try using SUBFOOT to do what you want. I think in this case WF is doing exactly what you have asked by placing each sort break data on its own page.
TABLE FILE CAR
SUM SALES
BY COUNTRY PAGE-BREAK AND SUBFOOT
" "
"TOTAL FOR <COUNTRY <ST.SALES"
ON TABLE SUBFOOT
" "
"TOTAL SALES ALL COUNTRIES <TOT.SALES"
ON TABLE PCHOLD FORMAT PDF
END

This sounds like you could use NOSPLIT.

TABLE FILE CAR
SUM SALES
BY COUNTRY SUBTOTAL NOSPLIT
BY MODEL
ON TABLE SET LINES 12
END

WebFocus 7x, 8x, Win / Linux, any output format

As you didn't post your code are you referring to the sub total on a sort break or the final total of the report? As jnc mentions on the sub total nosplit would be a good option as is Alan's subfoot (which does result in some alignment issues if you want it positioned under the column). If the final Total, I'm not sure what option would work. ON TABLE SUBFOOT perhaps.

Yes, I am trying to us it with Grand Total, but if i go by this only the last value in that column is coming as a total and that too not under that column. Below is my sample code, after trying the option suggested:

DEFINE FILE HOLD
RETURN/D16.2 = Value1+Value2;
END

TABLE FILE HOLD
SUM
NM_NAME AS 'Name'
NM_SUB AS 'Temp1'
NM_SUB1 AS 'Temp2'
RETURN/D16.2 AS 'Return'
BY
NM_CLASS NOPRINT PAGE-BREAK
WHERE
NM_STATUS EQ 'ACTIVE';
ON TABLE SUBFOOT
" "
"TOTAL END

quote:

"TOTAL END

Do you have an

ON TABLE COLUMN-TOTAL

in your report?

Or if you are using ON TABLE SUBFOOT and using the ST. operator try the CT. operatior.
