Hi,

I have procedure that I created like below, I tested it and it is working fine
-------------------------------------------
TABLE FILE pol_proc_tx_f_data
PRINT
PK
TX_CD_ID
POL_N
POL_INCP_DT
POL_TERM_EFF_DT
POL_TERM_EXP_DT
MERIT_IND
CLMS_FREE_IND
XMOD_IND
PKG_DISC_IND
XMOD
DISC_DIFF_MOD
TTL_INSD_VAL_AMT
TX_TYPE_ID
WHERE POL_TERM_ID='1000511-2013-03-24'
BY POL_TERM_ID
BY HIGHEST 1 TX_DT NOPRINT
BY HIGHEST 1 TX_TM NOPRINT
BY HIGHEST 1 CURRENTVERSION NOPRINT
-------------------------------------------
I want to create function using same where I want to use parameter with where clause.

Is it possible ?

Thanks, Virul

Hi Virul,

Does this work just fine?
The WHERE clause has some syntax issues.
WHERE POL_TERM_ID='1000511-2013-03-24'
Should be
WHERE POL_TERM_ID EQ '1000511-2013-03-24';

Are you trying to create a FUNCTION or create parameter functionality?

Check documentation under parameters on the IBI website or perhaps under a Help button.

A WebFOCUS parameter in this situation will start with an ampersand. You will need to know whether you are sending a single value or multiple values.

You can set a default to test it.

Let's say you name the variable &POL_TERM_ID.
Put the default statement at the top of your fex.

-DEFAULT &POL_TERM_ID = '1000511-2013-03-24';

Your WHERE statement is now:

WHERE POL_TERM_ID EQ '&POL_TERM_ID';

MSonda,

Thanks your for your help.

Yes, below works fine
The WHERE clause has some syntax issues.
WHERE POL_TERM_ID='1000511-2013-03-24'

I don't need to put EQ instead =, but that is OK.

I am looking to convert this procedure in function, so that I can call that function in iWay data migrator.
My parameter is not static. It will have more than one parameter.
Yes I can set parameter, but in this case design we are looking is different.

Do you have any idea, how to use this TABEL FILE statement in Function ?

Thanks again for your advise.

I'm sorry I am unfamiliar with calling a function in iWay data migrator.

I don't really understand what you are trying to do.
