Hello everyone in this forum
I have something starnge asked by a costumer, wich I beleive can be done. User says he has a WebService that consumes a data base and retrieves a query from it. Then he asked if Iway ETL can take that WebService, consume it and use it as its origin table, then map the columns and get the info to the destination table. I beleive a WebService leaves an XML document when it is consumed, and I know IWAY ETL can use XML as its input data, so my question still it, can ETL use a WebService as it's input data???? Thanks in advance Any reply would be appreciated. Jose A Pineda IMS BI Consultant |

In short I believe the answer is YES. However the web service (XML) document can be very fat with tags, resulting in what my end up being unnessary data trafic. iWay Data Migrator can use it.

Poa1981,
You can use the iWay web services adaptor and map the web service to the ETL server like any other data source. The ETL server would create a master file and access file to consume the methods the web service exposes. Look through the doc to see how to use the web service adaptor from the ETL servers' web console. WF Ver.: 5.x, 7.1.x, 7.6.x App Servers: Tomcat, WebSphere, SunOne Platforms: All ...
