We found that when right-clicking on a -INCLUDE in the Dev Studio report text editor, that the popup menu frequently (not always...) contains an item 'Open Include'. Convenient, isn't it?

Well... NO! As it turns out, this feature can result in Interesting Times trying to figure out why a previously functioning report suddenly stopped working.

If you ever click 'Open Include' on an include from a different app directory, what happens is NOT that the feature opens that included file from the other directory.
Instead it creates a NEW file with the same name in the CURRENT app directory!. The only contents of that file is a comment with the file name. It does show you the new file and its contents, but it also saved it for you already...

Since this newly created (mostly) empty file is now the first procedure of that name in the path, that's what gets included!

Thanks, Dev Studio!

Hi Wep5622,

This is a friendly follow-up regarding your topic - Dev Studio 'Open Include' menu option.

I have tried this in our IBI WebFOCUS 8103 environment and do no see exactly what you are seeing. Therefore, it might be best to open a case with IBI TechSupport Center.

Please provide the basic steps on reproducing this issue. Also, are you able to try this within AppStudio?

Once a case is opened please update the subject line with [Case-Opened] and then provide an update so that others will benefit from this.

Kindest regards,
Tamra Colangelo
