I turned on the Run-time Messages window, which chops the screen in two. I have yet to see any messages and I'm stumped as to what the point of the thing is. The problem is that I can't remember how I turned it on! How do I turn it off?

Next to the Run button on the action bar, there is a dropdown menu. Select that and choose Message viewer OFF
