It seems to me that the files defined with USE command are not being recognized by HTML Layout. However, the dropdown box binded with datasource seems to recognized the files defined with USE command.

Here is a sample

USE
C:\IBI\APPS\TEST\MYCAR.FOC AS CAR
END

I have the above USE command in the profile (tried edasprof.prf and user's profile, restarted the server).

Then I ran the HTML file which contained the following code:

< ![CDATA[-*focexectool
TABLE FILE CAR
PRINT
CAR
BY COUNTRY

ON TABLE SET PAGE-NUM OFF
ON TABLE NOTOTAL
ON TABLE PCHOLD FORMAT HTML

END]]>

It showed no nothing in the report, but dropdown list showed the values from car file.

However, if I renamed mycar.foc to car.foc, then it worked. That proved that html did not have problems, and the problem is that file defined in use command was not recognized.

Any one knows how to make it work. Our situation is we definitely need keep focus data files different from master files. Each of our clients has own file names, but same master.

Your USE statement is correct. If you just add a simple TABLE FILE CAR after it, it works so the USE is OK. I'm not recognizing your HTML, however, so I can't decide exactly what else you're trying to do.
Any difference if you insert a -RUN after the USE statement?

Darin
