Hi,
Working on a report that shows sales
by Region (Asia, Europe, North America, World wide),
By selected Supplier,
By day(user selects specific month/year and it should display all the working days whether sales or not for that month).

I used the technique in the link below to display all the workdays whether there is sales or not
http://www.informationbuilders...developers/densedata

What I cant figure out is how to show all the Regions.
When I try

By Region ROWS...
BY Days ROWS ...
I get an error.

Basically, the data I want to display is Regions (all 3 regions and worldwide), Days(all the days in the selected month), Supplier, Sales (0 if there is no sale for the selected supplier
for the Region for that day).

Thanks

One way to fill in the gaps is with MATCH FILE.

  • form a hold file by region by date.

  • form another hold file, with cartesion product of [all dates to appear in the report] and [all regions] -- there a recent post that gives a straightforward method, given an appropriate data-source for each dimension.

  • A match file between the two Hold files (by date by region; old-or-new) gives you a data source to report sales by region by date.
