I am using a where condition on compute field to filter top 50% records/orders

a) I am creating a report with column totals.
Totals are split in two lines(since I am using no print for BY field).

Problem:
everything works fine except totals are split in two lines

OR

b) To avoid splitting I started using subfoot(using tot.fieldname).
Problem:
Totals don't change on filter.
I mean it adds all the records without considering the filter on compute field.

I would appreciate if anyone can assist me in fixing either 'a' or 'b'

There's a pile of postings here on SUBTOTAL lines getting split into two - I'd suggest reading those to solve the problem rather than using SUBFOOT.
