Hello all! I am a WebFOCUS newbie, and I am dealing with an issue for which I cannot find a good answer. I am trying to build a report from a SQL Server stored procedure. The proc resides on a SQL Server 7 database. As we cannot use an adapter, WebFOCUS is connected to the database using ODBC.

In order to successfully call this stored procedure, should I create a master file, or is it easier to call the stored proc from the WebFOCUS procedure/report itself. And either way, can someone give me a reliable code example to try out?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Welcome to the Forum! To start, I'd suggest using the Search tab. Use "stored procedure sql server" as keywords. If those posts don't help you, then post again. Good luck.

Hi Ginny. Thanks for the quick repsonse. I should have added that I have tried precisely what you suggest, which has rendered no successful results. Here is the code I have based on what I have found:

SQL SQLODBC SET SERVER REP_DB
SET SQLENGINE = SQLODBC
SQL SQLODBC EX SP_MC_PATINSLL;
TABLE FILE SQLOUT
PRINT *
ON TABLE HOLD AS HOLDMYRESULTS
END

And here is the error I get:

1
0 NUMBER OF RECORDS IN TABLE= 312923 LINES= 312923
0
(FOC1400) SQLCODE IS 1 (HEX: 00000001)
: [S1010] [Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Function sequence error
(FOC1407) SQL FETCH CURSOR ERROR. : SQLOUT
(FOC1517) UNRECOGNIZED COMMAND ADHOCRQ FOCEXEC *

I am executing this from a .fex file.

Hi JRenner,

I forwarded this one to our internal technicals and was suggested that this issue can be a little more involved, so a better channel for assistance would be to open a case with Information Builders' Customer Support Services. You may either call at 1-800-736-6130, or access online at InfoResponse.

Cheers,

Kerry
