We have a J2EE application that is calling and executing a WF report through Web Services. If anything goes wrong with the WF report (i.e. can't connect to the database, etc.) we want WF to send J2EE to send a string (like the one below) through a SOAP message. Is this possible?

WebFOCUS Message[42]: NO EDA HTML Output

Ted,
something like this:
1. Create a master for the focsql.err file, ti's located in the \ibi\64bit\srv76\home\nls or
\ibi\srv76\home\nls\, depending on whether you're on a 64 or 32 bit machine. They come in a few different language versions as well.

FILENAME=FOCSQL, SUFFIX=FIX
SEGNAME=SEG1, SEGTYPE=S0,$
FIELD=str0,,A5,A5,$
FIELD=errno,,A9,A9,$
FIELD=space,,A1,A1,$
FIELD=text,,A65,A65,$

Run a query and extract the information you want. Maybe jsut the first line is interesting.

/Håkan

I think that step 1 should be add error checking to your fex.

Then you can handle the errors.

No offence Waz

but I think create the master file first and then run a standard fex as an -include or ex after the report. If &FOCERRNUM = 0 then you just skip the error handling, else do somthing useful to send to your Java app

The order is not important, unless it effects the performance of the report.

As long as there is error checking, and something to handle it.
