Why do I have to check the "Override the Format Specified in the Procedure" box when running a compound EXL07 report thru Report Caster? I have "ON TABLE PCHOLD FORMAT EXL07 OPEN/CLOSE" specified in the .fex.

WebFOCUS 8.2.02 corrected issues with compound reports with Excel. It now even allows you to burst them.

The ReportCaster product manager just let me know I am wrong. This is not fixed in 8202. This has to do with the 'old' compound report syntax requiring that a user specify the format in the scheduling tool. It is still required as a workaround. You can't schedule such a report without specifying excel or pdf. Sorry for the fake news.

This bug has been around since at least v8.0.08. In a reply for this thread, [BUG] WF 8.0.08 Report Caster and Compound Excel Report - NO GO?, someone suggested they recall it occurring in v7.6.1. There's a case open. Is this an example of "share this with all the product people from IB" not working?

This bug is still in 8.2.04. Recommend all compound reports be sent via override-the-format option in ReportCaster, even if there is no need to override the format.
