Can WebFocus 8 use the browser's locale to alter dates and times to the correct values, and alter date and time formats to their regional formats? This message has been edited. Last edited by: mbondr, WebFOCUS 8.2.04 (and climbing) Windows 10, AppStudio

That's what I've been reading. It's a silly thing to do since it's what the user sees that's important. Using the locale of the browser, which is easily available, makes much more sense. I've seen javascript implementations of this though. But all this is old, 2012 and before. WebFOCUS 8.2.04 (and climbing) Windows 10, AppStudio

I have always used JS if i have to do anything related to locale, it is easy and reliable. WF 8.2.04 Windows/Unix All Formats In Focus since 2006

If you have enabled the dynamic language switch, a user selects a language once and that choice is kept in a cookie. Default output on the server is whatever is defined in the masterfile. Using: SET DATE_ORDER= SET DATE_SEPARATOR= SET TIME_SEPARATOR= SET DATEOUTPUT=LOCALIZED You can set the right formats you need. Especially for multinational enterprises you don't want the user's browser to be leading in choosing the date format. Test: WF 8.2 Prod: WF 8.2 DB: Progress, REST, IBM UniVerse/UniData, SQLServer, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, Greenplum, Athena.

Interesting. Still, not the dynamic solution that would be necessary in places like Europe. It doesn't deal with the user's timezone, which is what started me down this road, either. This message has been edited. Last edited by: mbondr, WebFOCUS 8.2.04 (and climbing) Windows 10, AppStudio
