AdityaData getting truncated
Hi,
I have created a report which displays the data depending on the parameters passed to it using sql pass through.In the fex file after the END command of the TABLE
(using -HTMLFORM BEGIN --Back button code-- -HTMLFORM END)i have created a Button (Back button)which allows the user go to the previous page.The report works fine and fetches the data when the no. of records fetched are small.But if the no. of records fetched are large than it some how truncates the last few records on the last page of the report. Basically it shows the Back button at the end of the report and from then on it truncates everthing.
I think it dosent wait for all the records to be fetched and instead displays the button a little early when the no. of records are large.Kindly help me in solving this issue.
Regards,
Aditya

BlueZoneAditya :
I vaguely remember having a similar problem a few years back, which we thought was a timing issue b/w the page getting rendered and FOCUS getting all the data back.
Anyways, what worked for us then was to have a dummy -REPEAT LOOP at the the of processing before the -HTMLFORM statement that made focus spin a little longer.
-REPEAT LBLKILLTIME 1000 TIMES;
-SET CNT_SHEEP='1';
-LBLKILLTIME
This may not be the techincal solution to the actual issue, but you could try this as a work around if needed.

Francis MarianiI'm not sure if this is applicable to the version of WebFOCUS you have, but I think you may have to change the setting for WF_BURST_OUTPUT. I have found weird things happen to HTML pages when the setting is ON. I changed it to OFF and the HTML pages worked. "WF_BURST_OUTPUT" doesn't sound like what it does.
quote:
WF_BURST_OUTPUT Performance Setting
WF_BURST_OUTPUT – Enables the WFServlet to send simple HTML reports to the WebFOCUS Client faster. If the request is being redirected, or if it is a complex ODP or OLAP report or a report with frames, this option should be turned off.
• Open the WebFOCUS Administration Console (URL:
http://web-server-name/ibi_html/wfconsole.htm)• Click on Configuration
• Click on Performance
• Change the setting for WF_BURST_OUTPUT to Off
• Click Save

KameshYes Francis, you are right. WF_Burst_Output setting works.
I had this issue earlier but that was with compound HTML report. When I change this setting, it worked.
Aditya, you can try this and let us know how it goes.

AdityaHi all,
Thanks for all your suggestions.Sorry for the delay.Regarding the issue,since i dont have an admin privileage,i am unable to modify the variable and moreover it may affect other reports running on the server.So we have finally removed the back button for time being and the user is now using the browsers back button to go back to the previous page.

Aditya

Francis MarianiAs far as my experience shows, the only effect that changing the WF_BURST_OUTPUT option has is that it makes the reports work. It won't affect the other reports.

susannahAditya
as i read your post, it looks as tho you are putting ONLY the back button inside your -HTMLFORM tabs.
If that's the case, its no small wonder that your program isn't working. you have to put
bothyour report
and your back button inside your htmlform
-HTMLFORM BEGIN
..back button code goes here
!IBI.FIL.MYREPORT;
-HTMLFORM END
