Greetings,

Can I add input components to an existing composer generated html launch screen?

Being familiar with html form elements, I would think this would be simple, however I've been battling this for two days!

Highlights of what I've done (and what I need):
- created report fex with most &vars needed.
- created composer html; added a button w/hyperlink to run fex (in step above).
- this generated all the nice code
- tweaked the above and had it working as expected

* Then tried to manually add another report option via a radio button (tried a combobox as well).

I don't get any errors, but the &var seems to not get passed to the fex.

I do a -? & and see all the &vars generated by the composer, but not my manually added component / &var.

What am I doing wrong, or what is the js expecting me to do when adding things by hand?

Thanks,

Hi Winfred,

This may be of help: new variable needs to be used in the report and then you can add a new variable in HTML Composer on the Parameters tab and make sure the new parameter uses the same variable name as the report.

Cheers,

Kerry

If you add the parameter to the report, then refresh the hyperlink, it will try to create a control on the htmlform for that parameter.

Then you can either link the parameter to the control that was just added, or delete that freshly added control, and just link the parameter to the existing control.

It's much easier if you let HTML composer build the controls and make the parameters, rather than trying to tweak the htmlform in the code.

All,

Okay, thanks... I'll try adding to the report and then do a refresh to see if it appears.

I'll report back on the attempt.

Either method is fine. If you add the variable to the report though, you will want to right-click on the report container and select "Refresh Parameters" so that they are re-gathered.

Thanks All,

It worked like a charm. Don't why I didn't think of this. Because it's the same technique as used in the beginning.

Doing the "refresh" thing, created the parm and control. I simply trashed the control and then added my own control (dual listbox). Then re-linked the parm.

Thanks,
