Report caster distrinution issue
Hi,

We have a java application that is using report caster to print invoices, documents and so on.
The application is scheduling jobs automatically on the report caster and instrcuting it to distribute to certain printer.
The printer is defined on the same machine running webfocus and report caster.
When we distribute to that printer we got the message unable to distribute to test@10.211.10.6
but when we change the setting on the application and define a printer on another server example : test@10.211.10.14 the job get distributed.
Could somebody help me solve or understand this problem?

Regards.

It may be the problem with your DNS entry. Check with your admin whether that printer's IP is configured with Reportcaster.

Hi Kamesh,

The printer is configured on the the same server as the report caster.
The message we are getting is : unable to distribute on test@10.213.10.6, connection refused.
test is the name of the printer on that server : i mean 10.213.10.6.
The printer is well defined.
Any other thing to verify?.

Best Regards.

try just using the IP address. if you can ping that ip address from that server, there should be no issues. The syntax is queue_name@printer_IP_address, but queue_name is optional and need only be used if a queue other than the default is desired.
