We run our reporting server on an AS/400. There's a job submitted on the AS/400 that creates an output file. What the users would like is a spreadsheet report created from this file every time the AS/400 job is submitted.

I'm not all that comfortable with ReportCaster but I am guessing there might be some functionality with that tool that would be a good fit for this request.

Am I totally out to lunch or on the right track?

Can someone steer me in the right direction to figure out how to do this?

Thanks

In the ReportCaster schedule, you could have a pre-process that creates the output and then a task that produces the Excel output. It's quite straightforward.
