I have a somewhat convaluted ask from IT. I have a set of reporting marts built in predominantly XFOCUS & FOCUS running within our 7.7.03 environment. We have a larger dashboarding project underway where the new BI tool/presentation layer for the dashboard will be Tableau. one of the only key integrated data repositories are my XFOCUS / FOCUS marts. So out IT team would like to connect directly from Tableau via ODBC into these marts. I have seen an EDASERVE ODBC connector/driver (about 10 years ago) however I have no direct experience doing this. If anyone has an experience connecting from an ODBC client into the EDASERVE/WebFOCUS server any direction would be appreciated.

There is not an ODBC driver available as an access method for FOCUS or XFOCUS data sources. WebFOCUS can use, as Tableau, ODBC drivers to access other data sources where there is a specific or generic driver available.

There is 32 and 64 bit ODBC drivers available for 77 servers. I did a configuration early last year. Contact your local office - or CSS - as you may have to configure the server differently, and there may be licensing issues.
