Is it possible to use a DM variable in the subject line of a ReportCaster job, Distribution / Notification sections? If so, How?

I want to add &DATEMtDYY &TOD there.

I would suggest testing it.

You can have an amper variable in the filename of attached reports, so I assume you could do it with the subject.

I even tried: "Daily_Reports !IBI.AMP.DATEMtDYY; !IBI.AMP.TOD;"
And I got : "Daily_Reports !IBI.AMP.DATEMtDYY; !IBI.AMP.TOD;"

You can use DM variables in WF8.1's ReportCaster. I know, because we tripped over that with some subject lines and message bodies that contained ampersands that were not DM variables, but just plain ampersands.

Thanks Wep5622, Unfortunately, as you saw, we're on 8007...

Would you please explain the differences between "just plain ampersands" and "DM variables"? I'm guessing the "just plain ampersands" are those set by the system (system variables) and "DM variables are those which are -SET within the fex that is being called by RC...

Doug,
I think Wep meant they had '&' as regular text in message bodies and subject lines as apposed to an actual variable being called.

'Ben & Jerry's Report' <--Subject line where '&' likely isn't a variable.

&time_of_day <-- probably a DM variable.

...and now I want ice cream...

Here is what I just figured out on all of this after an hour or two struggling with this.

Your fex must reside on the server and not in the repository. You can use a DM Variable, but it must also be used in the report itself.
