Hello

I am looking for some help with allowing a user to upload a .csv file to an html page from their local machine. Then we would need to store that csv file in a location where WebFocus can read it and update/append an oracle database table or Webfocus Table file. This would be sort of an ETL Tool or Application within WebFocus.

There's an Upload function that does exactly that from the Portal home page or Workbench.

Is this for webfocus 8202? Once the csv file is uploaded where is it stored?

Dmoses

This is been available in version 8.0 and above. The csv file is saved on the WebFOCUS Reporting server under the application folder selected during the process.

Thank you for using Focal Point!

If you have configured other read/write adapters, you can also allow the user to load the data into one of those DBMS's.

Would it be possible to have this feature available in the report itself? The user would open a report/dashboard and upload data from there.

This is a feature of the Portal. You'd have to do a lot of coding to expose the feature inside a report. However, in the JOIN dialogue there is an UPLOAD button which allows users to blend uploaded data from inside a report. All of this is covered in the doc under Upload. https://webfocusinfocenter.inf...e/working_data37.htm
