Hai all

Please ignore if my question seems to be silly.

As far as I know InfoAssist is end user tool. But I want to know the starting point to use it. Like if we want to develop a new report, we open Dev Studio, and do it in a domain or app folder. So, how infoassist is helpful to end user?

I used InfoAssist to create Reporting Object templates and stuff but that is through Dev Studio. How can end user actually use Info Assist??

Can someone please guide me through any documentation?

Thanks a lot..

Click the link at the top of this page called Search the Technical Documentation Library. In the resulting page select 'Webfocus Reporting' as Product, select the latest release available, search for 'infoassist' and hit Go.

An end user can access InfoAssist either through the Dashboard or via Personal InfoAssist to create Ad Hoc Reports from Reporting Object or from the Dataserver depending on their authorizations. You can find documentation on the tech support site.

What I have done in the past is to create the reporting objects for InfoAssist in Developer Studio. The users using InfoAssist can only report against reporting objects created for them. In Dev Studio, you can report against everything you have access to. You can have the joins turned off by the administor and do them for the user within the reporting objects so that they do not create run away queries. Hope this helps.
