I need to create an Excel spreadsheet with 2 tabs. However my client is using FOCUS 7.2.2 and they still use Excel 2003. As a result I need to use some variation on

ON TABLE HOLD/SAVE AS XX FORMAT EXCEL to generate the results.

Any ideas.

Sandy,

First off, spectacular last name....

Here is how we do it in Excel...

TABLE FILE X
PRINT Y
BY 1
BY 2
ON TABLE SET COMPOUND 'BYTOC 2'
ON TABLE PCHOLD FORMAT EXL2K FORMULA
END

Thanks for the reply.

However, I'm forced to use FORMAT EXCEL - can't use EXL2K and when I tried this with EXCEL I do not get two tabs.

The excel must be older than 2003. FORMAT EXL2K is for Excel 2003.

If your client is using EXCEL 2003, then EXL2K should be fine. I don't think the feature you want is available for format EXCEL. BTW, we are still using Office 2003 as well so don't feel like you are alone.

Sandy,

We are currently running Excel 2003 and have no issues. Would you please confirm the version you are running?

Thanks

Sandy,

The problem isn't with your version of EXCEL. The problem is you are on MVS FOCUS not WebFocus. If you can't specify EXL2K this can't be done.
