I need to create several top 10 reports/bar graphs based on counting a "Literal" value contained in a database field. Because this value is not numeric I would imagine you would use a counting feature instead of "Sum". Do I need to assigned a value of 1 to each record and then do a summation? For example, I need to determine the top 10 issues reported to a call center, during any given month (i.e. Connectivity Issues - 10,000, Software Malfunction Issues - 8,000, Caller Hang ups - 5000 etc...). Many thanks, in advanced Smiler

When building your chart within the GUI, when you drop your literal field in the SUM bucket (if it is alphanumeric) then you will see that it is prefixed with the "cnt" operator.

You can do the same within a report. Just insert the field into the location of your report as required and click on "Aggregate". The "cnt" prefix operator is a little more difficult to apply if you do not know where it is! Select your field within your report, click the "appearance" tab in the ribbon and then locate "Aggregation" within the "Display" section. The dropdown for aggregation will list out the prefix operators that are applicable to the field type that you have selected - "count" should be the first.

That should sort your requirement Smiler
