I am trying to figure out how to create a HOLD FILE in WebFOCUS (ver. 8105) APP STUDIO (not in the text editor).

It seems that the button or whatever icon is needed is hidden from view. I'm referring to the HOLD as 'ALIAS' output option.

Can anyone help me ?

Thanks,

If all else fails, can you swap over to text view and type it in ?

Surely I could and I'd actually prefer that. This client, however is easily flustered that I defiantly would use text editor.

Gu-eeeee is the high goddess here, you see.

In App Studio, Create a New Report and click the FORMAT tab (3rd tab from the left) then click Output Format button's down arrow and you'll see Styled Report, Unstyled and DBMS HOLD formats. To pick the AS name, go to the Destination button to pick a name. This generates an:

ON TABLE HOLD AS abc FORMAT xyz.

It is dangerous radicals like yourself who scare everyone by exhibiting a thorough knowledge of the software you work with. Shame on you.

It is pointless and futile to resist the GUI Collective. Eventually you will be assimilated.

But the indoctrination must occur before the assimilation. There is a reason why STUD rhymes with DUD. Lol
