We have a manually created .csv file that will serve as data source for a report. I am unable to copy it into Dev Studio. Why is that?

JBK, "I am unable to copy it into Dev Studio. Why is that?" doesn't really tell us how you are attempting to copy it.

Master Files > New > Upload data File works quite well, but only if the CSV file is not too large. I would create a CSV file with 10 rows, perform the upload, then manually copy the larger CSV file.

I was trying to drag and drop into Dev Studio.

We're on a Linux box.

I have not seen this upload tool before. What a great tool! And it worked, although it changed the extension from .csv to .txt.

I have to share this with the 2 other WebFOCUS guys here!

Thank you!

Dev Studio has an in built restriction on what file types it can copy to or from a server.

Basic rule has to be, if you cannot do t with APP COPYF then you can not do it.

Francis, what release did that upload tool come in? No one, not even the person from IBI tech support who I was working with on an unrelated case had heard of this.

It's definately in 7.6.11

Open the applications under the data server you want to user
expand the application you want to use
right click on masters
select new/upload data file
follow the screen
