We just moved our virtual webfocus server and kept the same server name. Everything is work fine but when I run Report Caster schedule, I don't get any emails and see the following error in the Log:

530 5.7.1 Client was not authenticated
Error sending brief notification to..... 530 5.7.1 Client was not authenticated
Error sending log report notification to ....... 530 5.7.1 Client was not authenticated

Is it related to the getting authenticated to our SMTP server.

Hi kpiracha,

IMHO, ain't sure about your issue.

It may help.Please check your settings in RC Console,

jdbc:eda:\\clientmachinename(not IP adress of the m/c): portnumber;server=servername;

After that, restart your distribution server manually in SERVICES.MSC.

Sometimes, i faced an issue after creating a New Reporting Server node.

Thanks,
Rifaz

Without having more details as to how you are set up, I found this problem that is very similar to yours in the IBI knowledge database. It also may be as simple as checking to make sure the ID/PW combination you are using to run the reports have been authenticated and synced to ReportCaster.
