I want to use my logo for the favicon on my portals. Does anyone know where I need to place my .ico file? I did a search on the server and found about 3 places where the IBI favicon is located, and I put mine in place of those but that didn't do it. Thanks very much.

I think it just has to be somewhere where the web server can access it. You can stick it on the Reporting Server under a domain/app directory within the apppath. We have an images folder where we stick all ours for use in our content.

8.2.02M (production), 8.2.02M (test), Windows 10, all outputs.

Mike,

If you change the favicon it will change it for almost all WebFOCUS web pages (except server consoles etc.). Is this what you really want? or is it just the icon shown against a portal in the list via /ibi_apps/?

If the former, then what is your web/web app configuration - tomcat standalone, tomcat/IIS or other?

If the latter, then change the icon via portal edit. Make sure the image is available and published.

To be honest, I'm not sure if I've got tomcat standalone or the tomcat/iis. How do I tell?

And I think I do want the favicon changed everywhere. Thanks!

We created an images folder in our content repository.

Then - Right click and edit a specific portal.

On the Edit page that comes up - there's a "Portal Icon" - and a "Change Image" button. Pick your new image. This allows you to do it on a portal by portal basis - which is nice for specific branding.

Well, that added an icon for my portal where it's listed in the resource tree, but when I run it I'm still getting the WebFocus favicon in the browser - that's where I want my logo to be instead. Thanks for the tip - I don't know how I missed that.

Mike,

You would need to check with your server folks.

If you have tomcat standalone then for WF8 (check the path for WF7) you need to place the icon in [drive:]\ibi\tomcat\webapps\ROOT. Remember to bounce Apache/Tomcat afterwards.

If you have IIS/Tomcat then you will need the icon in the correct website location. Don't forget that clearing cache is required after this.

Still no luck.

I replaced every favicon.ico on my system with my new one and nothing changes. I'll open a case with IBI. Thanks to all for your suggestions!
