Is there any other alternative to retrieve windows log in id?

Thanks.

Something like the following under:
WF Admin Console -> Configuration -> Custom Settings

Might also help:
<if> REMOTE_USER NE ""
httpsession=_RUSER
<call> CopyWFVarToSessionVar(REMOTE_USER,httpsession)
<endif>
<ELSE>
wfvar=REMOTE_USER
httpsession=_RUSER
<call> CopySessionVarToWFVar(httpsession,wfvar)
<endif>

This way if REMOTE_USER is received once throughout a session, the variable should be carried out through the rest of the requests even if for some strange reason its not populated.

You should concentrate on the cases where you get null. That is not the way it should be, and I can't think of any reason why the variable would not be filled when coming in from the web. Thus I expect it to be corrupted somewhere along the logic within the application. I would put some time in to this investigation.
