We are using double list box selects and would like to 1) automatically remove the 'ALL' if the user selects something to put in the "selectto" list box control. 2) Put the items back in sorted order in the "selectfrom" if the user "removes" an item from the "selectto" list. I have tried to use code in the "add" button that interrogates the "selectto" list for ALL and removes it using the call to the "selectremovebutton" onclick event selecting the value in the "selectto" to be removed. Appears that the "addbutton" code from webfocus is firing after my "remove the ALL entry" code. Is there a way to have webfocus complete its "addbutton" event and then pass control to my code to fire the "removebutton" to remove the ALL entry? This type of "after event completes" processing is needed to allow me to sort the list after webfocus performs the "removebutton" code to put the removed entries back in the "selectfrom" list.

KeithD,

Are you running 7.6.9 without any of the hotfixes? In the base 7.6.9 release there is a bug in the double-list control where it automatically selects the first item in the selectfrom list and places it in the selectto list.

If you were to go to the parameters tab and uncheck the 'Add "ALL" Option' box I think you'll find that the selectto box no longer has ALL in it but instead has the first actual item in the selectfrom list.

If I remember correctly this was fixed in HF2.

Hope this helps,

Dan

I think you are referring to a bug where if you clicked on the "add" button and nothing was selected in the "from" the first item was selected. We do want the ALL to be in the SelectTo box at the beginning. However, when someone actually selects something from the "from" listbox, we want the ALL to disappear since from a practical sense if you pick a "real" entry, you don't want ALL also. And currently they have to manually remove the ALL from the "to" box or they will get ALL.

Hi Keith,

It sounds like you want "If all is selected, then if another one is picked, that all be removed from the selection".

Since you can’t have all plus anything else, you might want to open a case with Information Builders' Cutomer Support Services to work through it. You may either call at 1-800-736-6130, or access online at InfoResponse.

Cheers,

Kerry
