Hello!

I have problem which exists only in portal in app. studio 8104 it is ok.

When report works for a long time (more then 10 seconds) instead of showing preloader image or just blank sheet it shows old (previous) result for some seconds. When report is completed new result appearss on the screen.

I suppose that there is some time-out after which the portal takes data from cache.

Does someone know how to fix it?

Welcome to Focal Point!

There is an option in the Administration console called EXPIRE_REPORTS.

The time when reports generated by the WebFOCUS Reporting Server are to be re-executed. The expiration time is set in seconds, and the default setting is 300 seconds.

You can view a previously executed report on the browser without re-executing its request. If the request for a report you are running is the same as the one executed previously (within 300 seconds), then the browser displays the previously executed report stored in the cache when you use the Back, Reload, or the Refresh button of the browser.

To ensure that the reports are re-executed, set EXPIRE_REPORTS to 1 second.

To change this value:

IN the BI PORTAL
- top right tool bar - select Administration - Administration Console
- in the next window
- select Configuration
- Client Settings / General
- 5th option is EXPIRE_REPORTS - click the "?" for information
- change the value to 1
- clear the cache - at the top of the window

Test to see if this change makes a difference.
