Are you talking about the BOT tables? How long depends on how many schedules you have. Even with backups prior, it should not take very long.

It has been a couple of years since I've done this so I don't remember how long it took but I don't think it took a long time. Did you follow the directions in the installation guide for repository migration? And I wouldn't do the 2 log tables.

In my experience the "Migrate and Extract Tool" does not work properly.
I could never get the tool to run to completion.
I used the "Create Repository Tool" to create the Report Caster database and tables.
Then I manually copied the data over using SQL Server Management Studio.

The Report Caster table structure can change from each version of WebFocus.
So this will only work if your Production and Test environment are the same version.

I have not had any issues using the migrate tool for ReportCaster. The time it takes will entirely depend on the amount of data in the tables (and I would agree that you should NOT bother with the log tables.) That said, it's only doing a read and dump wchich probably should not takemore than a few minutes. Are you running into disk space restrictions?

We will be migrating from 7.1.6 to 7.6.9 later on this week so I'll post the details and whether or not there are issues.

Regards,

Darin
