I'm trying to create a Dashboard in 5.2.5 - first one.... So far it's still a very simple design. However I already find myself needing to change the worp image that was selected during the Edit Look phase. I changed the worp file but this did not change my dashboard look. I went in to Edit Look but it drops all my colors.

Is my dashboard view now stored somewhere that I can change (like the worp file) ? I thought any changes to the worp file would be reflected in my dashboard.

Surely there are times when company names and logos need to change on dashboard banners..... without having to recreate the dashboard.

Also I can't preview this post with Dashboard Edit Look - strange but true so if you find a typo sorry Smiler

Okay...quick Dashboard 101...when you save a Dashboard that you've created, it will get stored under the ibi\webfocus52\worp\worp_custom folder. It will have it's own folder, typically named something like aa_mpv, or whichever is next in your sequence (depending on how many Public Views you have created). Here you'll find all of the html and css files that comprise a typical Dashboard. When making changes via the ViewBuilder, all changes will be done to these files.

If you'd like to customize your own template, that being your own thumbnail under "Look", I can provide you with some documentation that will explain what each cascading style sheet controls and which files you would need to edit/create.

Cheers!

Inigo,
Can I just copy the files from this new worp (which is exactly what I want) back into the worp file that I used for the template to start with...?

Yes and no. Sometimes going from a finished Dashboard stored under the worp_custom folder to a template stored under a worp_html folder isn't as seamless as you would hope.

In short, I typcially take an existing template folder (say worp3 if this is the first time creating a template) and copy it to a new name, say worp_inigo, and then make my changes there. This way I always have something to fall back on. Additionally, this is a good way to store previous Dashboards that you've created, and with one click, you can have it available at your finger tips.

I'll follow this with an email to you with the documentation I spoke about in my previous post.

Cheers!
