[CLOSED] 8.2.03 - Issue with values being passed to HTML form
Scenario ...
Report has a link that passes values to a form for users to make comments/modifications to the line entry. If the value of the ampervariable being passed to the form is '' then the form is inputting a space into the form that has to be deleted to allow for proper data entry.

We just upgraded from 8.1.05M to 8.2.03. This is new behavior to us. Has anyone else ran into this issue? If so, how did you resolve it. I cannot seem to find anything on the forums and the technical documentation is not turning up anything either.

My first thought is to set a watermark value, test for that value and empty the control box onFocus, but it seems like a lot of work for a lot of processes that have this same logic flow and now new issue.

Thanks in advance for any enlightenment you are willing to share.

Happy Friday!

Chuck,
it is an HTM form that calls a fex and does a MODIFY

Step
1. Fex produces HTML report in frame
2. User clicks on hyperlink to call the edit .fex
3. HTM is called using -HTMLFORM from the fex and passing paramaters
4. HTML Form uses !IBI.AMPER.ParamName; to pre populate text box and calendar controls. If the value is '' then a blank or blanks are populated.

Lastly user submits form and a MODIFY updates a .foc

Was that clear as mud?

Yes that clears that up. Unfortunately I don't have an answer as to why it is putting the space in there now, maybe someone else will. You may have to report it to techsupport.
