Report Caster database move
We are moving our sql server to another location. Report Caster database houses on that server. What information do I need and where I need to make the change on report caster configuration.

Please advise,
Thank you.

From you client server URL http://hostname:8080/ibi_apps/ click on the WebFOCUS Administration Console. In that you will see Option for Report Caster and its connection properties for the database.

That is the place you will find the RC database details. IF that doesn't work then you need to look for dserver.xml on the server where the report caster is installed. That file will contain the same info with some additional details i guess but that file will be in encrypted form so you need to decrypte then make the changes and again encrypt it.

The above mentioned 2 different ways helps to configure the database. If you have to create BOT tables and load data to the new schema then you have to use 'creatUtil' , rcextract and rcload. You can find more details in the documentation.

The better way is to modify it in the Reportcaster server configuration tool.

If you plan to do any change on dserver.xml, better take a backup and then do. This file will easily corrupt.
